The Queens Football League

The Queens Football League

In 2017, I had an idea that many wouldn’t believe matured into reality. At the time, it seemed a bit crazy but hey, I’m never one for ideas that are totally safe. Every business venture I’ve taken so far takes some sort of insanity. Many people would have been deterred by the challenges. I get excited by them even when the odds are slim…Once I believe in something, I just don’t back down. I see it all the way through normally.

So that year when I had the idea to start my own American football league (Queen’s Football League) in The Netherlands, no one could stop me. Not even me. To develop the idea I had to learn more about the sport. I learned as much as I could. I then gathered the necessary resources and started my first team. Now we have four teams (Amsterdam Cats, Rotterdam Ravens, Flevo Foxes & Leiden Redkeys) going on our fifth (in the city Utrecht). And in a few days, we’ll play our first international match against France (on 6th of July).

I won’t lie. It was not easy. I took leaps I never dreamed I would ever take. Sometimes, I was uncomfortable. Sometimes, it felt like too much. But I stuck it through, meeting after meeting, strategizing, networking, partnering until there was progress. Now we’re growing.

I am extremely proud of my team, coaches and all those involved in making Queen Football League what it is. The fans support and appreciate what we do. We’ve been getting attention from all over the world and soon, we’ll expand to our neighboring country, Belgium.

We have so much in store. If you want to follow the league, follow us on instagram (@queensfootballleague) and Facebook (Queens Football League). We will also be launching our renewed website soon (in July).

Before I end this article, I’d like to say – see your idea through. You’ll never know until they’ve become real, and then you’ll know 😉 Next time I’ll speak about my other venture – coffee. Until then, have a great week!
